Founded in 1982, this Quebec company started out raising pheasants for local restaurants. In that time, game meat was not yet popular; the people of Quebec still preferred their reliable beef, chicken, and pork cuts. Maison du Gibier was part of the movement that popularized game meats. While they started with small game, they eventually did move on to larger game such as bison and elk. Saslove’s carries items like quail eggs and confit duck legs from Maison du Gibier – a company that values tradition and quality.
